”När nioåriga Stella och hennes pappa flyttar till Sverige känns allt nytt och lite konstigt, språket, skolan och fritidsaktiviteterna, allt är annorlunda och tar tid att vänja sig vid.

Så en dag berättar Stellas kompis Elena en fruktansvärd hemlighet för Stella. Hon berättar att hennes mammas nye kille kommer in på natten och lyfter på täcket och flåsande stått och iakttagit Elena när han har trott att hon sov.

Elena är vettskrämd och vet att det här är väldigt dåligt men vill trots det vill inte Stella att hon ska berätta för någon. Något Stella lovar. Men Elenas hemlighet skaver som en tung sten i magen på Stella. Vad ska hon göra?”

 

”Stella och hemligheten” är en berättelse som både är spännande och känns ”på riktigt”, här blandas en vardagsnära berättelse med allvar och mörka stunder då det är en berättelse som tar upp flera olika svåra ämnen som verkligen berör. Det är en bok som man bör läsa tillsammans, men också en bok med ett viktigt ämne att prata om.

 

I Stella och hemligheten handlar det om att flytta och lämna en förälder kvar i ett annat land. Det handlar om vänskap och relationer och det handlar om modet som krävs för att stå upp för sig själv och säga nej till exempel till stela kalas, påtvingade kramar och elaka kommentarer. Det handlar också om vuxna som inte alltid lyssnar så bra.

Boken är fylld av färgstarka illustrationer skapade av Stina Lövkvist

Bokens huvudsyfte är att få barn att stå upp för sig själva och andra. Att hitta sin inre styrka och att våga säga nej om det är något som inte känns rätt. Berättelsen handlar också mycket om vad som är skillnaden mellan bra och dåliga hemligheter och hur det är att vara en bra kompis.

Trots bokens färgglada framsida som säkert lockar till läsning och illustratören Stina Lövkvist alla fina och färgstarka serie liknande illustrationer som lättar upp stämningen i boken är det en berättelse som tar upp viktiga ämnen om barns rättigheter, att barn har rätt att säga nej. Att de har rätt till sin kroppsintegritet och de har rätt att säga nej när något inte känns bra.

Att en så oskyldig sak som en kram, ska inte behövas tvingas fram av ett barn, bara för att du som vuxen känner en annan vuxen betyder det inte att barnet känner sig bekvämt att krama denna vuxna person.

Stella och hemligheten är en berättelse om flera viktiga ämnen och i slutet av boken finns frågor till läsarna för att öppna till samtal om svåra frågor som rör integritet, förtroende och självkänsla. Det finns också en separat lärarhandledning för den som vill fördjupa sig i frågorna.

Även om förlaget anser att det är en bok som riktar sig till lågstadiet och åldrarna 6 – 9 år anser jag personligen att det kan vara bra om man som förälder och mentor läser boken själv först. Jag anser även att boken går att läsas av äldre barn som på mellanstadiet och åldrarna 10 – 12 år.

Jag vill vill verkligen hylla att denna bok har skrivits för vi får inte tysta ner att sexuellt utnyttjande av barn är ett allvarligt samhällsproblem i Sverige idag.

Visste ni till exemplet att minst tre barn i varje klass i Sverige utsatts för sexuella övergrepp! *Vi vuxna har alla ett gemensamt ansvar för att göra något åt situationen. Med hjälp av boken Stella och hemligheten är det en berättelse som kan hjälpa till att öppna upp för samtal mellan barn och vuxna då den tar upp viktiga ämnen som barns rättigheter.

Alla barn har rätt till sin kroppsintegritet och de har rätt att säga nej när något inte känns bra!

(*Siffrorna är tagna ifrån organisationen ”Tre ska bli noll” Tre ska bli noll är en ideell förening, där samtliga intäkter går till arbetet med att ge alla barn den trygga barndom de har rätt till. Stella och hemligheten är framtagen i samarbete med World Childhood Foundations och #EyesWideOpen-kampanj, vars mål är att öka medvetenheten om de barn som varje år faller offer för trafficking och sexuell exploatering.

Bokserien ”Nollan och nätet” är en liknande bokserie där den första boken heter ”Noelias hemlighet ”.

Böckerna handlar om säkerheten på nätet. Det är verkligen en aktuell och viktig bok som är ett bra hjälpmedel för att underlätta för vuxna och barn att samtala om livet och säkerhet på nätet.

Samt att de ska bidra till att öka förståelsen för andra, även för de som är födda med särskilda behov eller har andra förutsättningar. Sagan visar att alla är unika och har olika värdefulla egenskaper som i boken ”Barnen i Kramdalen – En saga om fördomar och barns olikheter”.

Nästa vecka mellan den 20 och 26 september 20212 är det Rädda Barnens Stopp! Min kropp-vecka.
 
Då lyfter de frågan om våld och sexuella övergrepp mot barn lite extra.
 
Det blir sändningar, seminarier, tips och du kan ta del av olika verktyg för att prata med barn om kroppen, känslor och gränser. Hoppas att du vill delta!
